Visual Merchandising Manager
Kataya Group is a supply chain and logistics company of off-price apparel, footwear, and accessories for women, men, and kids. We provide brick-and-mortar retail-ready merchandise as well as management services in merchandising, inventory control, marketing, and many other areas. We are managing an off-price retail chain in Lebanon and now revamping our operations as well as creating a new off-price concept both physical and online to be launched overseas.
We are looking for a visual merchandiser to create, implement, and oversee the visual merchandising strategy and guidelines across the company, in line with the company’s strategy and goals. The VM’s main responsibilities are listed below.
Duties and Responsibilities
Phase 1:
Create and implement a VM contingency plan (Plan B) to ensure continuity in upholding the branch stores look and feel and minimizing any damages to the brand image until a full complete strategy is put in place.
Participate and contribute to the creation of the VM strategy and VM guidelines by working in close coordination with the designated VM consultant(s) and representing and driving the company’s needs and requirements.
Phase 2:
Design and plan the visual merchandising department and assist with the recruitment and development of VM team members.
Train, coach, and support the VM team, and follow up on their schedules and deliverables.
Implement and monitor the VM strategy across all the company’s stores, including the windows displays, interior displays, floor plans, and special promotion displays.
Develop and design seasonal VM plans in accordance with VM strategy and guidelines and ensure uniformity of displays across all of the company’s stores.
Ensure the company’s adherence to VM guidelines when applicable and visit stores when needed.
Phase 3:
Develop and implement a plan to expand VM team to support the expansion of the retail concept internationally.
Develop and implement quality control reporting processes and dashboard in order to ensure remotely the continuous alignment to the VM strategy and guidelines.
Stays up to date with local and international VM regulations, trends, and best practices.
Conduct continuous improvement on VM strategy and guidelines as new trends and requirements rise.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in visual communications, spatial design, interior design, retail management, or a related field.
Proven work experience as a visual merchandiser or visual manager.
Comprehensive portfolio of relevant visual design work.
Experienced at using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or other visual design tools.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Working knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
