Retail Analyst
As a merchandising analyst, your primary role is to support the Merchandising department and help maximize the profit potential the retail stores chain. This is done, by collecting and interpreting data to help the company take actionable steps to improve performance and meet goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends and generate statistical reports on selling, logistics, and all other merchandising performance metrics
Actively monitoring selling performance and inventory levels, identifying trends, and supporting by optimizing balance between selling and stock
Optimizing stock balance between new and previous seasons with allocation and replenishment tools
Conducting and presenting in-depth sales analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities
Supporting by identifying slow moving items to set promotions/price reductions as appropriate
Supporting with the purchasing strategy in partnership with the Buying and Merchandising managers to secure and achieve a competitive collection for the different markets and channels.
Supporting by analyzing CRM data, identifying customer trends, and researching competitors to support decision making around assortment
Conducting ad hoc analyses for strategic projects focused on allocation and stock management strategy
Working cross functionally with the Buying, Merchandising, Visual, and Marketing teams to ensure short term and long-term strategy is secured
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or any related field
Experience in Merchandising is a plus but not a requirement. Courses in Merchandising will be offered.
Knowledge in Excel is required, but courses will be provided as well.
Sales driven and results-oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Very strong analytical skills, highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
